Andron has been officially recognised as a Level 3 Disability Confident Leader, the highest accreditation within the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme. This milestone reflects our long-standing commitment to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive, regardless of their background or disability.
Progressing from Level 2 to Level 3 demonstrates that we have built an environment in which disabled colleagues and candidates are welcomed, supported, and able to succeed. This level of accreditation is rare: only 390 organisations across the UK have achieved it. With more than 19,000 employers in the Disability Confident scheme — and 1.4 million UK businesses employing at least one disabled person—this recognition places Andron within the top 2% of Disability Confident employers and just 0.0003% of all UK businesses.
Reaching this stage is the result of sustained effort and a combination of practical steps taken over several years. Key initiatives included:
- Partnering with Enable to attract and support disabled talent
- Providing Unconscious Bias and Disability Awareness training to all hiring managers
- Adapting interviews to ensure candidates’ individual needs are met
- Offering ongoing support through Access to Work, Occupational Health, and Able Futures
- Promoting flexible working
- Training Mental Health First Aiders across the business
- Running regular diversity, inclusion, and feedback surveys to guide continual improvement
While these activities helped us maintain Level 2 status, moving to Level 3 required us to demonstrate leadership beyond our own organisation. Encouraging and supporting other employers to join the Disability Confident scheme was a crucial factor in our accreditation, and it reminds us that although achieving Level 3 is an important milestone, inclusion works best when it is shared.
We look forward to continuing this progress and supporting others to do the same.
