Meet Andrew Bryan, our new HSEQ Director. Andrew brings over 25 years of experience in HSEQ roles, including 15 years within the facilities management industry.
In his Q&A, Andy shares his vision for HSEQ as something that genuinely helps people do their jobs better and more safely — not something they have to work around. He also discusses what clients can expect when working with Andron’s HSEQ team: a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach built on partnership, insight, and collaboration, as well as why he chose Andron as the company to join.
Talk us through your career – what led you to HSEQ in facilities management?
My career has always been driven by an interest in how people, risk, and compliance come together in real working environments. I started out wanting to understand how organisations manage risk in practice, not just how it is written down. Over time, it became clear to me that health, safety, environment, and quality are closely linked and, at their core, are all about doing the right thing, consistently, in complex and often busy operational settings.
Facilities management really appealed to me because it is fast-paced, diverse, and people-facing. You are dealing with live environments, varied client expectations, and frontline teams who need solutions that are practical and proportionate. HSEQ and ESG in FM are not theoretical, they are about enabling work to happen safely, sustainably, and efficiently every day, and that is what drew me in.
Why Andron? What drew you in there?
What attracted me to Andron was the balance between ambition and authenticity. There is a clear desire to do things properly, not just to meet standards, but to raise them, while staying grounded in the realities of service delivery.
Andron is a genuine family-run business. The leadership team is not distant; they are at the pulse of the company, actively involved in shaping culture, supporting teams, and driving high standards. ESG, sustainability, and HSEQ are not just words here, what they say they do, they actually do, and with real passion. That hands-on, values-driven approach is what drew me in and continues to inspire me every day.
You are obviously still very new to the role, but is there anything that has stood out about how Andron approaches HSEQ?
What has stood out most in my early time at Andron is the openness and genuine engagement across the business. There is a real willingness to have honest conversations about risk, performance, and improvement, including where things could be better and that creates a culture where learning is valued over blame.
I have also been impressed by how closely HSEQ is integrated with operational teams. There is a clear understanding that the best outcomes come from collaboration, not control. Teams are empowered to make decisions safely and sustainably, rather than being constrained by paperwork alone.
What really excites me is Andron’s passion for sustainability and ESG initiatives. These are not just policies on a shelf; they are genuinely embedded into how Andron operates. From energy efficiency and waste reduction to wellbeing and social responsibility, there is a real drive to make a tangible, positive impact, and everyone, from leadership to frontline teams, shares that commitment. It is inspiring to see a company live its values in such a practical, results-focused way.
What are your priorities for HSEQ in 2026?
My priorities are centred on maturity and consistency. That means strengthening core HSEQ and sustainability fundamentals while making sure they genuinely add value at site level.
Key areas include improving data quality and insight, so we are using information, including AI, to anticipate risk rather than react to it; embedding a stronger safety culture, where near misses’ observations are seen as opportunities; and continuing to align environmental and wellbeing objectives with operational delivery. Ultimately, the goal is for HSEQ and Sustainability to be something people recognise as helping them do their jobs better and more safely, not something they have to work around.
What do you want clients to know about working with Andron’s HSEQ team?
Clients should know that Andron’s HSEQ team is pragmatic, engaged, and solutions focused. We do not believe in one-size-fits-all approaches or unnecessary processes. Instead, we take the time to understand each client’s environment, risks, and priorities.
Beyond safety and compliance, we bring a genuine commitment to sustainability and ESG. We work with clients to embed these principles into day-to-day operations in a practical, achievable way, ensuring that environmental, social, and governance goals are not just targets on paper, but real outcomes delivered with purpose and passion.
In short, we see ourselves as partners, adding value through insight, challenge, and collaboration, supporting clients to deliver safer, more sustainable, and more efficient operations.
