It is with deep sadness to share the news that Andron’s Chairman and Co-Founder, Ron Stewart Snr, has passed away peacefully at age 83, following a short battle with cancer.
Ron was a much-loved father, grandfather, colleague and friend to many. He was a gifted entrepreneur and salesman with a captivating personality, and his determination to build a successful business that would support his family led to the early beginnings of Andron, which he established in 1980 alongside his eldest son, Ron Stewart Jr.
Starting as a small, two-person carpet cleaning business in Aberdeen, his unwavering work ethic and perseverance led to the national facilities management company we have today, now employing over 2200 people.
Ron’s personality embodies the family values that underpin everything we do, and it would not be the business we have today without these. Although he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on through Andron, and he continues to impact so many lives and will continue to do so for generations to come.
Finally, it was Ron’s wish for donations to be made in his memory to his charity of choice, UCAN, a charity dedicated to raising awareness of urological cancers and improving support and quality of life for people and families affected. Thanks to the exceptional generosity of everyone who donated, over £6,000 was raised in his memory.
