April 19th, 2009 A team of six staff from Andron Facilities Management took the concept of fundraising to new heights recently in the ultimate charity event. In aid of Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland, the team of six from the Aberdeen and Glasgow offices abseiled from the Forth Road Bridge and raised over £1500.
This unique challenge involved an abseil 165ft SAS style (i.e. free-fall) from the Forth Rail Bridge onto the beach below. The Forth Bridge Abseil is a real adrenaline rush for the daring and the ultimate challenge.
Commercial Executive Tim Townsend headed up the team of brave volunteers and is pleased to have taken part and wouldn’t hesitate to do it again.
“CHSS is a charity which we are pleased to be supporting. We wanted to take part in an event that was different to the usual charity runs and it didn’t take much persuading to get our team together. It was a great day out and would like to thank all those who sponsored us.”
